At Mixhalo, we pay homage to the loudspeaker. Iconic, powerful, captivating, the loudspeaker has been the heartbeat of live entertainment for over a century. From basslines that rock your core to crescendos that give you goosebumps, loudspeakers deliver unmatched physical energy, inspiring and uniting us. But they come with limitations:
- Quality depends on the environment: wind distortion at outdoor venues, echo in concrete arenas, uneven coverage in sprawling conference spaces.
- Output is one-size-fits-all: same language, same volume, no personalization.
- They provide no data. You don’t know who heard what, for how long, or what resonated. There’s no follow-up, no AI leverage. Although a stunning analog technology that shifted the paradigm of the day, loudspeakers are poorly positioned to take advantage of advancements in artificial intelligence.

What Is a Digital PA System?
Imagine a new way to deliver audio at live events. Instead of distributing audio over the open air, Mixhalo captures audio at its source — the soundboard — and streams it in real-time to the smartphones of attendees in the audience. Attendees can listen to a speaker or a panel the same way they would listen to a podcast: with their own phone and headphones. Straight to their ears with no perceptible delay.

This idea comes from the stage. Our founders — Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger and violinist Ann Marie Simpson-Einziger — relied on in-ear monitors for years on tour. Pro musicians know: to hear clearly, isolate the audio and remove environmental variables.
So we built Mixhalo to unlock that same immersive, intimate listening experience for live audiences everywhere.

- And at major conferences, we’ve introduced “podcast-style listening” — allowing attendees to access content with their headphones and smartphones.
We are seeing serious engagement. At a recent conference, over 5,000 attendees (representing 65% of the total audience), opted in to the “podcast-style” format, driving 600,000 minutes of net-new digital engagement inside the event app. That sort of engagement becomes possible when an event organizer makes the the leap from ambient to digital.
